When and why might the Bluetooth signal to the Ladybird be lost?

According to current scientific knowledge, there is no evidence that this Bluetooth radiation is harmful to health.
However, the range and intensity of this Bluetooth connection are lower than those of conventional Bluetooth and may be disrupted or temporarily interrupted under certain conditions.
Here are the most common causes:
- The distance between the ladybird and the station is too great: The range for a stable connection is a maximum of 4 metres (due to BLE Class 3). If the distance between the ladybird and the station is greater than this, the connection may be lost. This can happen if the child moves out of this area with the ladybird, e.g. when crawling, walking or being carried.
- Obstacles between the ladybird and the base station: Metallic or large objects (e.g. furniture or walls) can block the Bluetooth signal and interfere with the connection.
- Attenuation caused by the human body: Close physical contact can weaken the signal, particularly if the ladybird is trapped between two parts of the body, e.g.:
- between the torso and an arm, or
- trapped between two bodies (e.g. tummy to tummy) whilst breastfeeding, cuddling or being carried.
- Ladybird is in standby mode: If the Ladybird detects a temperature below 30°C, it enters sleep/activation mode (smart sleep mode) to save energy – the Bluetooth connection is automatically disconnected. This can happen if the Ladybird is removed from clothing, is no longer in contact with the body, or is simply lying somewhere.
Tip: Make sure the ladybird stays within range and that no large obstacles or physical contact on either side interfere with the signal. This will ensure a stable connection between the station and the ladybird! Find out more here.
