How do I receive alerts from the MARY by sticklett APP?

sticklett support

Last Update 2 years ago

Alarms are only triggered if they have been activated in the app and the app is either open or active in the background. In addition, the media volume of your smartphone must be switched on so that you can hear the alarm sounds.

Enable alarms:

How to activate the alarms:
  1. Tap on the bell in the top bar. Alternatively, you can also access the alarms via Menu-> Configure alarms or tap on the baby picture in the Home view.
  2. Switch the slider of the respective alarm to on/on.
  3. The setting is applied automatically
  4. Tap on the round home button at the bottom to return to the home view

Optimise battery (Android)

Carry out these steps so that the app is not automatically closed by the operating system in the background

  1. Open the settings on your smartphone
  2. Select the MARY by sticklett app under Apps
  3. Under Battery, select the ‘not limited’ option

Background update in IOS

Apple only allows conditional use of apps in the background. By activating the background update, you allow the MARY by sticklett app to communicate with the ladybird in the background. However, this use has been restricted by Apple since IOS17.

If your iPhone already has IOS17 installed, you can also use an older iPhone model, such as the iPhone X with IOS16, for MARY by sticklett. A SIM card is not required, only a WLAN connection is required.

Activate night mode (IOS)

Since IOS17, Apple decides whether and for how long the app runs in the background. This is not a problem for short periods during the day, but at night it can happen that the app is paused in the background by the operating system and therefore no longer triggers alarms. To avoid this problem, an intelligent night mode has been integrated. This simulates a screen saver and allows the app to remain active undisturbed while you sleep at night. Tap this symbol at the top of the bar to activate night mode. A black screen will appear. You can end night mode again by tapping twice on the grey ladybird at the bottom.
Important: Deactivate the screen lock in the settings on your iPhone from IOS17 so that the app remains active without interruption.
